Can you imagine using a camera without optical coating on the lens? Your pictures wouldn't be as beautiful as they are now. Our evaporation materials enable outstanding optical coatings for outstanding pictures.
For various types of optical coatings, evaporating thin film materials have been the production method of choice for many years now. For example, anti-reflective (AR) coatings are used for mirrors, or filters. Specifications can be extremely demanding, with tight spectral tolerances, low defect densities, and high durability requirements. We offer evaporation materials that were carefully designed and developed to meet the strictest requirements in optical thin film production.
All our Patinal® range comprises more than 40 evaporation materials, from fluorides to oxides, sulfides, and metals. Our suboxides are ideal for shorter melt preparation and special oxide mixtures are needed to fine-tune film stress and achieve the required deposits on plastic substrates. We also offer high-density oxide mixtures to help reduce processing times. Our products span the entire range of optical transparency from deep UV to far IR, making them ideal for use in a variety of specialist fields.
All of our Patinal® materials are manufactured and tested according to the highest quality and processing standards. They have a proven track record when it comes to high performance in optics manufacturing. Due to their high purity, low spitting levels, and high process stability, Patinal® evaporation materials enable very durable optical coatings – even in the most challenging applications such as laser systems or optics used in harsh environments.
